New at Judaism Online: an online community of learners

It's not exactly a surprise that Jewish learning at Judaism Online takes place, well, online. That's what makes it possible for students around the world to learn Judaism where they are, when they have time in their busy schedules to sit down and watch an hour-long lesson. It also makes it a great value for students.

From the beginning, I envisioned an interactive community of my students, a place where they could discuss their thoughts and questions about Judaism with each other and with me. This week, it became a (modest) reality: the Judaism Online online community.

It's great, really, in a bunch of ways, for students to be able to watch lessons on Judaism wherever they are and in whatever time zone. And now the students of Judaism Online can also take part in discussions on their Jewish learning and Judaism, also online.

How cool is it to have people from four continents (so far) learning Judaism at Judaism Online. And now they can also learn from each other in our online community, in a sort of virtual beit midrash.
